ABOUT THE PROJECT
HALKA is a female-led cooperative project offering cleaning services in Izmir. The project is financed by the European Union under the EU facility for Refugees in Turkey, administered by the World Bank and implemented by Impact Hub Istanbul.
The primary objective of the project is to encourage women to access sustainable by being a partner of a social cooperative that offers professional cleaning service.
The project offers a series of vocational and women empowerment trainings as well as various services and opportunities to support women’s journey.
MISSION OF THE PROJECT

Our mission is to promote women’s economic empowerment by advancing their capacities and leadership skills. By strengthening women’s ability to join the work force and ensure their participation to the decisions that affect their lives, our work will enhance the efforts towards women’s rights advocacy and eliminating discrimination against women.
Our values are; integrity, professionalism and respect for diversity.
VISION OF THE PROJECT
We envision a world where women are celebrated for their leadership and strengthened to create change. Our focus is to support and improve women on how they can establish a social cooperative and sustain income generating business. With their income, women can support themselves, make an impact on their social circle and strengthen their communities gradually. This way, women empowerment can be ensured across generations and we can make a difference.

An Impact Driven Global Movement
Impact Hub Istanbul is one of the world’s largest networks focused on building entrepreneurial
communities with an aim to create impact via tangible solutions to the world’s most pressing issues.
Youth Deal Cooperative is a Research, Development and Training Cooperative established on 10 February 2015 in Izmir and registered by the General Directorate of Cooperatives. The main objective of the Youth Deal Cooperative is to extend local cooperative and solidarist organisation methods for groups depriving of production and social security opportunities.
Youth Deal Cooperative is responsible for the preparation, establishment, operations and monitoring of the cooperative infrastructure and also for ensuring that the innovations in this area are internalized by the cooperative members.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Meslek Fabrikası will lend considerable support by providing vocational training relevant to the cleaning sector.
